We have two living spaces in our home, one of which is currently used as a play room for my kids. As they get a little older, I’m planning to change the space to be more functional for guests and everyday living. I’ve been working on a mood board and thought I would share here as well to hopefully inspire you if you’re looking to update your living space.
I love a calming color palette. I want my home to be a place that feels cozy, calm, and inviting. I think you’ll notice that the color palette I’ve chosen for this room does just that. The rug is a nice neutral base that will give the room a lighter feel. To add contrast, I’ve added this blue sofa (LOVE, shown here in “Indigo Blue”) and these beautiful accent chairs. I think the tone of the wood contrasts nicely with the lighter rug and brings some warmth and texture to the space. To bring in a little more of the blue, I added in some throw pillows that would work nicely (#7, 8, 10, 14). You’ll also notice other hints of blue throughout the room in the artwork (#9, 11) and the table lamp.
I am in love with this chest of drawers. The texture is just drool worthy and I love how it ties in the color of the rug. The gold hardware also fits nicely with the other gold accents in the room. This would be a great storage piece. I chose this oval coffee table for added warmth and to complement the accent chairs.
It’s hard to tell in the graphic, but the sofa has gold accents on the legs, so to tie this in to the rest of the room I chose this gorgeous side table/drink table/plant stand (so versatile). Be sure to check out the details on the side table, I love it so much. Frames for art or photos is another great way to tie in the gold. I wanted to bring in a little more color, but wanted to keep it subtle for that calming vibe I’m going for. I loved this art piece (comes framed!) with the pinks, corals, and yellows. So I also added in this pillow to tie in the pinkish hues (can purchase individually or in the set pictured which I think would look great in this room). Love it paired with these two art pieces as well (#11, 12). Add in some lighting (floor lamp– love how the curved arch mimics the curve in the coffee table; table lamp– I own this lamp, it is affordable and I’ve been happy with it. It’s on the larger side) and some plants and you have a gorgeous living room!
